XSR Daytona 150 Review
Daytona, Fl. – After the Class B Series took the track almost a week ago the drivers of the XSR Silverado series were able to make their way onto the track for the Daytona 150 presented by Xtreme Sim Racing. Jon Adams started out the event with the Pole his second here at Xtreme Sim Racing this season. Matt McGowan qualified second out of 15 drivers.
After the green flag dropped the drivers were ready for some great side by side racing. After a few laps the drivers seemed to get single file. Green flag pit stops started at around lap 38, then the caution flag flew after a driver spun out and hit the wall exiting the pits. Which gave Matt McGowan his chance to capitalize and lead a few laps. Once the green flag came out Jon Adams assumed the lead and stayed there the rest of the race. There was a late caution on lap 58 while drivers were just starting to jostle for position which ended the race giving Adams his first win of the season and sweeping Daytona at Xtreme Sim Racing with a one, two finish for Carbon Motorsports.
“I would like to thank my team owner [Jon Adams] for the great truck for today’s race,” said driver Allen Krier. “We are expecting a lot of wins out of Carbon [Motorsports] this season,” said Jon Adams. “Don’t be surprised when we dominate at almost every track we run at.” “I am really looking forward to this season just based on the fact of the good clean close racing that we have had and it is only the first race of the season,” said league owner Adam Edwards.
Next week the drivers visit Atlanta Motor Speedway for the Atlanta 150 Presented by Xtreme Sim Racing.
XSR Daytona 200 Review
This week drivers have made their way to the Daytona International Speedway for the Daytona 200 Presented by Xtreme Sim Racing. Drivers enjoyed their off season but are ready to get back to the track for some great side by side racing. League owner Adam Edwards said that he was really excited to get the racing started for the first season of Xtreme Sim Racing.
Jon Adams won the pole for the event with Jeremy Hughes sitting on the outside pole for the inaugural event. A total of 14 drivers qualified, for last weekend’s event. The race started with some good side by side action Jon Adams led 77 of the 80 laps of the race dominating the front. “It seemed like we just couldn’t get to him,” said Adam Edwards who finished second. Michael Shea was the driver who finally broke Adams’ consecutive laps led when he stayed out under caution to assume the lead, only to spin his tires on the restart and cause a small incident that would not produce a caution.
As the laps wound down to the finish it seemed as if Adams’ could not be beat. On the last restart of the race Adams’ gained a big lead over the rest of the field and this was their chance to topple him off of the top of the charts, but a block kept him in the lead a later caution would come out and the race would be finished under yellow flag.
Co-Founder James Wallace was absent from this week’s race with a prior obligation said that he was hoping to be back for the second race of the season. He congratulated his driver on the win and said that there was a lot more like that from JDub Motorsports.
